Revolutionary statesman and patriot; signer of the Declaration of Independence; governor of Massachusetts, 1794-97. Three original documents. Two bear the signature of Samuel Adams, Lt. Governor of Massachusetts and the signature of John Avery Jr. Secretary of the State. One is a letter to the Reverend Samuel Mather of Boston.
